About Deterrean Gamble

University of Houston Law Center graduate and Texas State Bar member Deterrean Gamble earned a yearlong position in the state’s First Court of Appeals, where he currently serves as a Briefing Attorney and Judicial Law Clerk. Deterrean Gamble studied for his Juris Doctor while contributing to the Journal of Health Law and Policy as an Articles Editor.

Deterrean Gamble earned several important clerkships and internships while studying law. Deterrean Gamble first clerked with Lone Star Legal Aid, where he called attention to disaster and hurricane issues affecting low-income residents and tried several eviction cases. Finishing the school semester as a research assistant for Professor Michael Olivas, Deterrean Gamble reviewed casebook projects to augment his studies. Deterrean Gamble gained valuable experience in bankruptcy and consumer law during his summers at Coats Rose Yale Ryman and Lee and Texas Attorney General’s Office. Deterrean Gamble took his final law apprenticeship with the University of Houston Civil Clinic as a Student Attorney specializing in family law.

At the First Court of Appeals, Deterrean Gamble clerks for Justice Evelyn V. Keyes. Deterrean Gamble prepares legal briefings and other reviews from ten Houston area counties for submission before the courts.

Deterrean Gamble attended the University of Houston, Clearlake for his Pre Law and Humanities Bachelor of Arts. Deterrean Gamble graduated Magna Cum Laude and received membership into the honor society Phi Kappa Phi.
